Our Vision

At Northwest Baptist, to love God and love our neighbor, through the power and presence of the Holy Spirit, we will commit to helping all members and regular attenders to be intentionally growing to be made more like Jesus. We will rely on God’s power to continue to transform us into His people.

Northwest is taking a bold step into Beyond as we celebrate our 70-year anniversary. Please join the entire church family as we gather to hear what we believe God is calling us to do over the next two years. Pastor Paul will lead us in teaching and preaching as we seek to understand God’s direction for Northwest.

On Sundays from October 11 through November 8, please commit to being present for the churchwide Bible study (including youth through adults) at 9:00 AM, followed by the worship service at 10:30 AM. We believe God is asking us to go Beyond as a church body, and we want you to be part of it. Join your church family for this 5-week kickoff!

Beyond Information

For the past 70 years, God has used Northwest Baptist Church as a lighthouse of truth and grace on this corner of Milwaukee and Wauwatosa. Now, He is calling us to look Beyond—stretching our hearts, our resources, and our vision past our immediate horizon to build a legacy of faith that outlives us. Beyond is a two-year campaign designed not merely to renovate spaces, but to unleash transformative ministry. Building on the initial momentum of our facility stewardship in Phase One, we are stepping into a future defined by expanded kingdom impact.
    • Beyond Buildings: Renovating our currently deteriorating spaces that house two church plants – Desire of All Nations and Word of Hope.
    • Beyond This Generation: Pouring intentionally into our children and youth by transforming the current administration building into a dedicated children and youth wing that is close in proximity to our worship space.
    • Beyond Today: Deepening daily discipleship, refocusing on the true purpose of the church, and anchoring our shared future in The Gospel, which transforms lives for eternity.
Primary goal: 100% engagement Our primary goal in the Beyond campaign is 100% engagement—that every person and family in our church body would engage in the fight for surrender, faith, and generosity by prayerfully asking what it means to put God first in every area of life.
    • Surrender: Releasing our own plans, timelines, and security to fully align our hearts with God’s mission and kingdom priorities.
    • Faith: Choosing to step out in radical trust, believing God to do through our combined obedience what we could never accomplish in our own strength.
    • Generosity: Offering our time, talents, and treasure cheerfully and sacrificially, recognizing that all we have belongs to Him and is meant to bless others. Secondary goal: Financial target.
We are trusting God for $330,000 in sacrificial commitments over the next two years to accomplish this amazing, Kingdom-expanding vision.
How Do I Go Beyond? We are asking you to join us on a journey with God that could be one of the most spiritually impactful experiences you’ve ever had.
    • Pray Persistently: Pray that God will work in the hearts of everyone at Northwest to listen, stay open, and respond to the Holy Spirit's prompting.
    • Commit Fully: Be part of the 100% engagement by saying YES and encouraging others to do the same.
    • Celebrate Joyfully: God is going to do amazing things in your life during this season. Share His handiwork enthusiastically with those around you.
    • Give Generously: Ask God to show you what generous, faith-stretching giving looks like for you and your family, and take whatever bold steps are required to see it through.
Join us for Commitment Sunday on November 8.
  • Initial Giver: An Initial Giver is someone who decides to give for the first time in response to God’s Word. They decide to give something and trust God and the church leaders with this gift. They experience the initial joy of putting Jesus’ words into action (Matthew 7:24).
  • Consistent Giver: A Consistent Giver decides to exercise the discipline of giving as a disciple of Jesus. Often, this giver chooses an online recurring gift and learns the joy of consistency. Non-online givers can be consistent givers as well; it just requires more discipline. They begin to feel a part of something substantial and bigger than themselves.
  • Priority Giver: A priority giver is an intentional giver who prioritizes generosity to God’s kingdom through the local church. They see the church as God’s “Plan A” and prioritize their giving to that cause. One distinctive characteristic of priority givers is that they may become percentage givers — intentionally giving a percentage of their money to the local church. By prioritizing the local church, they join in God’s “Plan A” work.
  • Generous Giver: A Generous Giver embodies the spirit of 2 Corinthians 9:7 where the verse concludes with these words: “. . . God loves a cheerful giver.” This growing generous spirit grows above and beyond and informs how they use everything they’ve been blessed and entrusted with –from monetary giving to God-honoring use of their home and other possessions. Their trust in God’s provision steadily grows, knowing that He will supply resources for their continued above-and-beyond generosity (2 Corinthians 9:10-11).

Beyond Churchwide Study

You’ve likely heard about this special season of Beyond at Northwest Baptist Church. If you’re still curious about what it’s all about, come and see what God has for you! On Sundays, October 11-November 8, all youth and adults will gather for a special Bible study with Pastor Paul at 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Following Pastor Paul’s teaching, small groups will gather around tables to discuss the lesson together and consider how we can put what we’re learning into practice. If you do not currently participate in a small group Bible study at NWBC, now is a great time to get started! During this kickoff, there will be a place for you to join others, learn together, and consider where God may be calling each of us—and all of us as a church—to go Beyond.

Beyond Sermon Series

During the 5-week Beyond kickoff, Pastor Paul is preaching a 5-week sermon series that will show us what it means to follow Jesus into His mission, trust in God who supplies, how to prioritize the Kingdom, what it means to take risks of sacrificial grace, and about taking a step of joyful surrender. Following each Sunday, the sermons will be posted to the page linked below. We invite everyone to join us on Sunday mornings, October 11-November 8, for the churchwide Bible study at 9:00 AM, followed by the worship service at 10:30 AM. We believe God is asking us to go Beyond as a church body, and we want you to be part of it.

Beyond FAQ

We want to be good stewards of the resources God has given us for ministry. Parts of our facility need repair and renovation, and we should dedicate our children's and youth area by moving our offices to a separate location.
Through God’s faithful provision, we have already met the immediate repair needs! Further construction will begin once we have completed our pledges and/or have sufficient funds in the bank to support the project.
If the Lord allows us to raise the $330,000 goal, we will take on NO additional long-term debt. If we are close to reaching the goal, we could take out a small loan to fund the rest of the project. We would plan to pay off that loan with income from our current Kingdom partners (church plants and CYT) with the possibility of future community partners. While we complete the project, we could use a short-term construction loan while we wait for our pledged gifts to be paid.
No, it will not affect services here at Northwest; it will affect Pastor’s office use and our Kingdom partners during the process.
There will be monthly email updates that will keep everyone up to date, as well as occasional updates on Sunday mornings.
There are several ways you can help! Prayer is definitely needed throughout the process. The church will also be helping with the demolition process, so you can get hands-on with the project. Lastly, continue to talk with others about what God is doing in and through our church during this time.

How Can I Give to Beyond?

You can give online to Beyond from your checking account, savings account, debit card, or credit card on our website or through the Breeze App.
Cash or checks can be left in the giving box in the back of the sanctuary, or mail your gift to Northwest Baptist Church - 4373 N. 92nd St. Wauwatosa, WI 53222.
You can donate stock to our church through our designated entity. If you sell appreciated stock and donate the cash proceeds, you may be subject to long-term capital gains taxes, which can be up to 20% of the appreciated value. Donating the stock directly to the church can avoid that tax and make your gift go further! If you would like to donate stock, contact our Finance Team.
Donor-Advised Funds, or DAFs, allow donors to make charitable contributions to a public charity, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants to other organizations like Northwest Baptist Church.
Are you subject to the required minimum distributions from your IRA account? A qualified charitable distribution to Northwest Baptist Church can satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution from your IRA, helping you avoid income taxes on an otherwise taxable distribution.
We can also accept other non-cash gifts, such as real estate, business interests, personal property, restricted securities, estate gifts, retirement plans, and life insurance. Our Beyond campaign season will begin on October 11, 2026. It will last two years, ending in October 2028. If you have any questions or would like more information about these options or the Beyond campaign, please contact our Finance Team.
