MINISTRIES

AGE-BASED MINISTRIES

Children

Sunday School: On Sunday mornings, Sunday School classes are offered during the 9:00 AM hour in the Administration Building.

Nursery Care: On Sunday mornings, from 9:00 AM until the end of the worship service, we have nursery care in our Administration Building that allows you to drop off your baby or toddler and attend a Bible Study class or the Worship Service.

Youth

At Northwest, we provide many opportunities for our students in grades 7-12 to connect with God, connect with each other, and to grow in their faith. New or visiting students are welcome to participate in any of the programs we offer.

Adults

Northwest strives to help people experience a personal relationship with God. We believe that people experience God in worship, grow in their faith through Small Groups, and respond to this life-changing experience in service to others in Jesus’ name. For our Adults, we offer multiple Small Groups, both on Sunday morning and during the week. We also have a Men’s Ministry and a Women’s Ministry, both of which offer events throughout the year, such as the Men’s Retreat, Women’s Retreat, Prayer Breakfasts, Ladies’ Tea & Bible Study, and more.

Seniors

While the name Senior Adult may remind some of a reality they would rather not think about, at Northwest we celebrate how God provides extraordinary gifts and potential at any age in a life surrendered to our Lord Jesus Christ. We have developed a ministry to and through Senior Adults. We vary greatly in age, energy level, and interest, but unity with diversity is the banner we wave!

Reading 4 Success

Literacy Tutoring in partnership with
Ralph Waldo Emerson School

Reading 4 Success is a literacy tutoring program in partnership with Ralph Waldo Emerson Elementary School in Milwaukee. We offer tutoring at Emerson throughout the school week, and tutoring at Northwest on Wednesday evenings during the school year. If you are interested in impacting the life of a child in our neighborhood through literacy tutoring, consider becoming a tutor in Reading 4 Success! No previous experience is required; We will equip you to help a child succeed.

Prayer Ministry

Do you enjoy talking to people in our community? Are you open to talking about matters of faith? If so, the Prayer Ministry could be a great fit for you! In the summer months, we walk neighborhoods around our church and pray with and for those in our community. Year-round, we gather for prayer on Wednesday evenings, 6:00-7:00 PM in our church’s administration building. If you have questions or want to learn more, contact Lorie Hegwood or Bonnie Lee.

Prison Ministry

A Mission of Freeing Spirits

Isaiah 61:1
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound.

Northwest Baptist Church has partnered with AS Ministries (Angie Saccaro) to provide love, compassion, fellowship, prayer, praise and worship, Bible, Bible studies, and Christian books to men and women currently incarcerated.

We also support staff at the various facilities we serve through prayer and care packages. Through our weekly visits, God has blessed everyone involved greatly.

Movie & Discussion Night

On select Saturdays throughout the year, Peter Davis hosts a movie night in the chapel. Prior to the screening, a potluck-style dinner and snacks are served. Following the screening, attenders engage in a thought-provoking biblical discussion about the film. Movie & Discussion Night is free and open to everyone! Watch the announcements for updates on upcoming movie night dates and times.
